.Best Place to Recharge Your Life Force

Cavallo Point Healing Arts Center and Spa is a spectacular space. Nestled just north of San Francisco, Cavallo Point is a lush, green, classic California destination. So, for those looking to enjoy a day of pampering and self-care in an inimitable geography, the search is over.

The spa treatments are not to be missed, but I particularly appreciate the healing arts menu, which includes herbal treatments, energy work, cacao ceremonies, sound baths and reiki. Reiki, for those who don’t know, is a Japanese form of energy healing which, through the palms, transfers energy to the recipient. The name Reiki comes from two Japanese words, Rei meaning “God’s wisdom or the higher power” and Ki meaning “life force energy.”

While I can appreciate the value of Western medicine, I often find it falls short. Reiki has been pivotal at different moments in my life, helping to rebalance and unblock my body’s natural energy channels. Cavallo Point Healing Arts Center and Spa, located at 601 Murray Cir., Fort Baker, offers a combination treatment of reiki with massage, which is by far my favorite option.

The dual treatment of massage to physically work out blockages and reiki to restore life energy flow leaves me feeling refreshed and renewed. It’s much like the feeling one gets after swimming in cool water and laying to dry in the sun.
