Creating Dynamic Paintings: A Cornucopia of Techniques Part I

This is the first of two exciting day-long workshops in which you will learn acrylic abstract painting techniques that will make your paintings more exciting. For all levels but especially good for people who have had some painting experience. We will explore:
•Ways to put paint on paper or canvas, both thick and thin—-
•Pouring, drips, splatters, wet on wet, blotting, making thin layers of paint—scumbling, brayering, scraping, troweling, shapers and palette knife
•Making various backgrounds with paint and the tools used to make them
•Time to make your own paintings.

Suzanne Jacquot earned a BFA at UC Berkeley in psychology and design, an MFA from Mills College in sculpture and photography, and an Art Therapy Certificate from Sonoma State University. She has shown her work in various galleries and museums throughout the Bay Area, and currently teaches Abstract Art at her own studio and online.
